The Event - White House

Much of the action in the show was in the White House.  We inherited an Oval Office set that had been used before on other shows and built the rest of the White House around it -- hallways, situation room, other offices and residence.

The Situation Room was an important set on the show as the President and his staff grappled with the many crises caused by the presence of aliens among us

This set was called the President's Study, but it was really a main room in the Residence area of the White House.  Scenes with the President's family usually played in and around this room.  Later in the season it was repurposed as the Presidents's Bedroom and then the Cabinet Room.  For the latter it was repainted and had to be repainted back and forth a few times as the two rooms showed up in scripts.
